As an elementary school science teacher, I aim to utilize surveys within my classroom to garner how my students are feeling about the instruction they are receiving. In addition, I would use tests and average out their scores to gage how they are understanding the concepts. I aim to teach fifth grade and I think the students will be able to understand how their responses will allow them to advocate for themselves. I think this can also be done for fun things like surveys on their opinions about certain things for s fun class activity.  Something that I was able to find very interesting about reviewing my classmate's blogs would have to be how they were able to represent their ideas so differently. They were both so creative and original, and I would have never thought to do some of the stuff that they did within their projects. This was very inspiring to me and gave me great ideas to use in the future. I think it was very impressive how they were still able to meet the requirement

When working on the Web Design assignment, I have realized how beneficial it is to plan before beginning to create. I first attempted to create the website based of my intuition and without plan. This ended with me repeating certain steps which were unneeded, and I had to restart in order to better organize my website. I feel as though I have been able to better understand the value of planning, and organizational skills before creating designs. I liked that the assignment exposed me to new forms of website design methods, however I disliked that that there was not explicit instruction to each step, which led to my disorganization. In my future career, I can use the new skills to better improve my classroom information and give parents an easy way to access information. https://webdesignmh.weebly.com The new skills that I have gained from using Diigo would include an increase in collaborative effort. I have been able to learn better from others through their input, and apply it to my

In terms of my initial experiences using Diigo, I would say that there are more positive attributes regarding it than negative. I really enjoyed how I was able to discover the amount of annotation styles available. In addition, I enjoyed how I was able to better organize my research through the creation of my own library. Taking notes through this has also been very beneficial. I would say that I disliked the tutorials and the information provided when first downloading the app. I found it to be a tad bit confusing, however I was able to figure it out with time. In terms of my personal experience blogging, I would say that there are positives and negatives which I have recognized. I enjoy having the ability to reflect on my own work and how I can consistently update my blog to reflect the material presented in the class. In addition, I enjoy the ability to communicate my thoughts regarding the course material and concepts provided throughout the week. I do not always feel confident

In terms of kindergarten, students are expected to learn about the foundations for various different aspects regarding technology. For instance, one of the standards listed would include being exposed to online reading materials, and the tools included in certain programs. Features such as glossaries and electronic menus can be utilized in order to find different things within text, and students are expected to utilize these tools in order to find particular text. Other items of electronic text must be recognized by the student as well, including but not limited to headings, icons, and table of contents.  In the CPALMS Educator toolkit, there are a multitude of resources for Kindergarten Social Studies. The resource "5 Senses", provides a comprehensive overview of the concepts of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch. In addition, there is a resource subset for each sense. In the smell resource, a video tutorial plays for the student, and allows them to understand and rec

Copyright would be best described as the rights one possesses to material. In terms of education, we can see this most frequently in one's rights to art, music, and writing. A copyright can limit the amount of people who can use and print these resources. Fair use can best be described as the exceptions to Copyright, or the circumstances which one is able to use copywritten material. This can be in the classroom, in research, and for criticism, along with other instances. As a teacher I would develop my own instructional materials in order to best fit my students, if other teachers wanted to use my material, I would most likely let them without feeling the need to go through a copyright process. However, if I developed my own textb

In terms of my experience with Microsoft Word, I have been certified in the application before, but this was back in middle school. I still have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word; however, I feel like I have lost my proficiency in it overtime. Using Word in the past has been very impactful towards my learning and my note taking, as it is an easy way to jot down quick notes and write summaries. I have also used Google Docs frequently in the past, but have never gotten formal training in the subject, so I prefer Microsoft Word. I have used Google Docs to collaborate on certain topics, as other people can access it easily and always see an updated version of the document, whereas Word documents are not easily accessible to others. I find that word works better for individual topics. The ISTE Standards for Educators would include the concepts of being a learner, a leader, a citizen, a collaborator, a designer, a facilitator, and an analyst. I feel as though the most important concept o
Madisson Hunley- 2040 EME Blog, Spring 2022                 Hi there! My name is Madisson Hunley, and I am a second semester Sophomore at Florida State University, currently pursuing Elementary Education. I am originally from Orlando, Florida, however I have spent most of my life in the Tampa area. Through living in Tallahassee the past year and a half, I have been able to take up new hobbies like rock climbing and camping, which has given me the opportunity to meet new people and have amazing experiences I would not have otherwise not been able to have. Something interesting about me would be that I love tattoos, and I plan on adding to my collection this year.                In terms of my prior experiences using technology in the classroom, I would say that I have had the opportunity to experience a great bit of technology both by choice and through the instruction of my teachers. Being a class of 2020 student, my senior year was basically cut in half due to the pandemic, which for
